Exclamation Line type definition duplicate definition problem.

We have come across a problem recently they has surfaced itself on a fairly large project. We were having troubles with linetypes not showing the way we expected them to. We finial traced it down to a situation were somehow there has been a group of line types with the same name that have different spacings. One spaced fare grater length than the other. So they show like a solid line in our typical drawings. The only way we have found so far to fix this is to individually to go into each of the drawings we have found this problem and reload the linetype from the proper location one at a time… This is a extremely slow process considering there are multiple linetypes per drawing and hundreds of sheets within the set and multiple xreferences for each sheet…

So I thought I would post this problem and see if anyone has ever had this problem and if there was a faster fix for it… What joy this is…

Thanks for any help if there is any…

I haven't tried this, but... would a dws file allow you to set standard linetypes? Have you tried the action macro recorder to record your steps? I would think a LISP routine would be able to reload linetypes too. Just a few ideas to think about.

You could probably run a script on the whole project and load the linetypes that way. It would still be doing it by opening each drawing, loading the linetype from the correct location but it would all be automated.
