    Default Slow performance

I have my own lighting central file with 5-6 arch links for different parts of a very large building. It is set up so each link is on a workset and not all views in my model load all worksets in order to streamline the process. For example, Level 2 only needs 3 of the six links and only those 3 are loaded in that level.

All of the sudden it is taking an hour to open the model. Has anyone seen this and what can I do to change it? There are only 2 of us actively working in the lighting model.

An hour to open a file?
Nope, I never had it take that long.
Have you "cleaned" all of the links.
    Detach from central
    Delete links
    Delete schedules
    Delete legends
    Delete extraneous views
    Purge all not used.
    Saveas
    Set worksets to Non editable
    Saveas-->options--compact file

This will help decrease the file size of the links.

    What version are you using?
    What are your computer specs?
    What are the file sizes?

What if you receive a new link everyday, do you have to do it everyday?

If you're receiving a new link everyday, you need to have a talk with the architect! (and yes, you would have to do it again)

Also check for groups. Grouping large amounts of objects has been known to destroy the time to open a file.
