Well of course mister That goes without saying. But Revit doesn't have a mechanism to automatically place certain elements on certain worksets (no mapping mechanism). You'd be surprised how many people assume that all levels and grids will always be on that blessed WS, whereas we know that's not the case as new elements will go to the active workset. So unless you switch the active WS to that one, they can be placed anywhere really.

Its worse than that. Its also an issue when someone on your consultants team accidentally MODELS on SL&G. A column ends up there, and you dont see it. A mechanical unit. Whatever.

    Shouldnt we catch it? Sure.

    But its time lost. Effort.

Not for nothin, but there is an easier way to do this globally without using view templates or visibility graphics...

    Click the manage tab,
    Go to manage links,
    select the links,
the manage worksets button at the bottom will become active
    click that,
    Find Shared Levels and Grids,
Under the open column click on yes and change to no.

This will save that setting throughout the set instead of individual sheets. ( Globally )

Sorry I'm so late to respond to this thread, I'm new.

Something I've had some success with, is to use a filter. Create your own hook in your copy and monitored families and then use a filter to find everything but your hook, and turn them off...
