    Default meshing problems

I cannot get Robot to generate structural mesh on panel. It generates for some panels and does not for others? Why is that? I have attached a copy of the model. The slab on the terrace floor meshes as also the 100mm slab on the typical floors. However the 150mm slab on the typical floors do not mesh.

    Hi strozy,

I think that there are some inconsistence in your slab. See the attachment images, in the 16 floor I can generate meshes (poor but ok). In the 17th floor there are some wrong, see the marks on image.

That is true, but I redrew the slab for the second storey and generated a mesh. I then copied the entire storey to the third storey, deleted the mesh and tried to recreate it, and it did not work.

Did you try separete the slab is smaller slabs? Instead one slab in entire storey you create one slab to each separation, for exemple, each room (the beams defines the slabs).

OK I'll try that and let you know. Is there a short cut to dividing panels into smaller parts or do they need to be redrawn?

You need to redraw the panels. If it is RC frame structure you can easily draw panels by indicating a point inside a space surrounded by bar elements.

good tip thanks!! Don't I need to sketch the contours first?

Images provided by Marcoabs perfectly illustrate problems with your model Strozy. But you are not far from obtaining correct model.
16 floor mesh is "poor" because of model inacuracies. Try to locate beams near the series of "sharp" mesh elements, zoom in close to see that their endpoint nodes don't match wall/floor edges (or don't join with other beams).
The best option for correcting this is Edit/"Detailed correct" and selecting "to structure axes" option. You can choose to correct "Current selection" only. After this correction mesh on the main floor panel looks better

Thanks I also noticed the inaccuracies. I think this is due to the fact that the model was exported from Revit. The snap options in Revit analytical model need to be made sharper
