Default Copy and object from one document to another?

Pretty straight forward, I want to be able to copy an object from one model to another without knowing any information about the object apriori, is this possible?

In the same document I presume you could clone and then move the object.

for instance, manually i can copy a wall, etc. into new location, but in API you simply cannot do it (?).
well, you may "copy" / "clone" / "duplicate" stuff like wall boundary, wall type, etc., but you still have to use CreateWall to create new wall.
