Post using Visual Studio .NET 2003

    newbie here,

I am trying to use an old version of .NET and reference the acdbmgd.dll and the acmgd.dll but I get this message:

A reference to "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ACADM 2011\acdbmgd.dll" could not be added. This is not a valid assembly or COM component. Only extension with 'dll' and COM components can be referenced. Please make sure that the file is accessible, and that it is a valid assembly or COM component.

Has anyone done this successfully or is VS 2003 just not going to recognize the "new" dlls?

    Thanks,

    Lyn

Why are you using such an old version?

I have been using 2003 since I got it for free. I finally figured out that it won't fly since it apparently only works with NET Framework 1.0. At least I can't do it with what instruction I can find out on the www.

Anyway, I have moved over to the 2008 Express download, again free and that is working well for me. If anyone else is using 2003 I would recommend they move on up unless they need one of the high powered versions; in that case they will need money.

When you are just trying to pick up a new language in your spare time it takes a while to sort out the wrinkles.

Upgrading was the way to go.
