I was working with someone a few years ago while using MDT 5 and 6 and he was doing breakout views. I cannot remember how he did this but I am in need of this feature now. Can someone help me with this?
Thanks

To create a break out view with MDT you have to create a work plane where you want the break out to be and create a profile using the pull down menu as such "part>sketch solving>break line". Once this is done, in paper space you create a new view and in the view type pull down in the dialog box select ortho and on the section tab choose the pull down menu item "breakout". Then you would place the view as you would for any other ortho view. Then MDT sends you model space to select the break line sketch and violla you have a broken view. The only problem I have encountered is you should save this as the last view to place or your broken line and the cut away portion will show up in dependent views so don't use the base view as the one with the section in it. It can also get a little tricky with multiple break out views on the same part that are in the same view. You then have to make them as ONE sketch or only one is going to show up!
