Default Decal tries to register MS Paint?

I am trying to create a decal using a jpg. When I try to insert the image into the part sketch, Inventor tells me that "MS Paint is not the default image editor. Would you like to register Paint as your default editor?" When I click Yes, it tells me it fails and that I should check to see if I have sufficent prviledges to do so. Since I am the administrator on the machine, I should have the rights. I have gone through Control Panel...Default Programs and changed Paint to be application that launches for all image file types it lets me do this for, but still no luck. I suspect registering image types to an application is different than assigning it as default image editor, but I don't know how to do that manually. I could not find anything under INV application options that lets me assign Paint as default image editor.

Inventor Suite 2009 on Win7 Pro 64 bit.

    Thanks,

    Mike

This has been an off and on problem for several versions... take a look at TS1055587 to see how to modify your registry...

    Thanks.
The only way I could get this problem to go away was to turn off User Account Control (UAC) thru Control Panel, even with the registry edits. I suspect it is because I am using INV 2009, which is not actually supported under Win7 - hope this has been fixed for later versions.

Cool Re: Decal tries to register MS Paint?

Ok, that’s almost like what I’m dealing with. I choose not to use MS paint because I use Photoshop CS4 all the time. Now that I said NO to the default, I can’t even use the Insert or Decal feature. Just another feature I can’t use in Inventor 2009 Pro along with Content center. I will try the above.
