Default Preset osnaps by CAD Nazi in my office

Our IT manager has locked in specific osnaps that he says are the ones we should use for drafting, he refuses to let us change that, i can add to them but after an autosave it resets them back to his preset ones, i constantly use node and this is frustrating

how can override these permanenetly please!

Have you asked him to implement his function with the possibility of using additional osnaps customized by the user?

If you know the value of the OSMODE system variable with your desired osnaps enabled, you could quickly reset it to your desired setting.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

Your first statement and the subsequent question contradict each other. If he refuses to let you change it, and it resets after an autosave, then there isn't much you can do - short of getting into a coding war...

This sounds like more of a management problem, than a technology one...

Why, of all things that might actually need to be managed, would someone feel the need to dictate/limit the use of osnaps?

Bad experiences from management thanks to people using inappropriate snaps like NEAr, resulting in poor drawings. Some intelligent programs are very intolerant of sloppy connectivity as well. We don't have enough information other than a user being insulting...

Some people just need you to know they are in charge....not realizing the stupid, pointless decisions make everyone look at them sideways.

    Osnaps? Really?

I can see linetypes or even fonts, but Osnaps?

Don't know if you've tried creating a new user profile. If you haven't, try that. With a new user profile, you can modify all the settings and retain them after relaunching Autocad. Good luck.

That will make the OP's CAD Nazi very unhappy.
