Default Official Siggraph 2010 photo thread

I'm probably going to be the only one posting photos, but anyone else that has some is welcome to post too.

The photos included with this post are from a demo done at the autodesk booth with the support of a booth across the asile from a mocap company called NaturalPoint. Demonstrated LIVE, they did a workflow starting in 3ds MAX-MotionBuilder-MAX-Mudbox-MAX. Incredible! They pushed a hero carachter out from max to motionbuilder, then mapped contraint points on the character to the live human, recorded motion, pushed the mocap and model back into 3ds max, then out to mudbox for some custom modeling for body armor on the hero and then back into 3ds max.

A water cooled system that looked really sweet, complete with a radiator on the back. The same company also offered rack mount water cooled systems! Hardcorecomputer was the company name.

    • object, another 3d printer company, does prints in not only solid, but rubbery type materials and translucent materials - great for printing a babies head with a brain visible or a model of iron man suit with lights or a dinosaur head that's rubbery (like the toys you played with as a kid)

    Saved the best for last...

    • Pixar, again was recruiting the most talented hands...
    • Pixel Farm was showing off its compositing toolset (moo)
    • 3ds MAX Zelda. Upcoming release of 3ds max. technology preview!
    • in the max tech preview, they showed how mental images new iray tech would work within 3ds max or on a cloud system. I pretty much wet my pants during this session. Near real time rendering. Uses existing mental ray materials/lights/render engine. Works on the GPU+CPU. Works from a cloud system too. Works in the background if you want. Cooks your breakfast and clips your toenails for an added fee. UNREAL!!!! Talk to your local autodesk rep and tell them you need realtime rendering in MAX!!!!
