    Default Column Symbolic Offset

I have noticed in view properties a parameter for under extents call Column Symbolic Offset. I can not figure out what this does and I can not find anything about it. Can someone tell me what this is used for?

    Default Re: Column Symbolic Offset

This parameter is to set the elevation (or offset) for the symbolic cross section in course mode. It is mainly intended for slanted columns. The reason it is used is the the top of steel elevation is often not the same elevation that the view is cut. If the cross section displayed at the cut elevation there would be a offset between the cross section and where the beams would snap to the slanted column.

    I hope that explains it.
