Default How do I plot a drawing using a STB instead of my CTB?

Having problems with a file sent to me that uses monochrome.stb plotstyle. It's not true black and white, some colors print in grey scale but grey scale is turned off. I use monochrome.ctb and all my plots are black and white. Trying to plot pdf for customer manuals and need all colors black, not shades of grey.

When I try to create a new plot style in the plot manager it doesn't recognize ctb files in my plot style folder. Any suggestions on how to load the ctb file into the drawing I get from the sender?

    Thanks,

    KentheCADGuy

The attached pictures are the NCS standards if you are using them.

We use CTB so while drafting you visual tell the difference from something you want lighter in the background and new from existing objects etc...
In our plot style table we set the lineweight and screening so we do not have to worry about drawings we recieve and the the layers settings for lineweights etc...

With STB's the color no longer dictates the plotted output, this is typically controlled by PLOT STYLE. If the entities were created with bylayer properties you should be able to just change your plot style for the layers that are giving you trouble to a plot style that will plot like you want it. attach the dwg, ctb and maybe a pdf and we can help more.

The monochrome.stb may have some plot style names that plot with screening set. You will want to check the layers for any that are set to plot with that name and pick another, you can sort on the plot style name column. Also, any layers with Normal as the plotstyle name will need to be changed to use a named plotsytle for plotting black. Easy to do and really is less work than doing the converting thing.
