I am new to Civil 3D. I have uses Eagle Point extensively though.
Are there any sources out there that provide a good start for the Styles (which I believe basically replace the field codes, linework, etc in EP)?
I have been trying for several weeks to get started in Civil 3D but it is a bit frustrating. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

There are books available or you can try AU Online http://au.autodesk.com/.

My best advice would be to look into training, really you are going to waste the money by lose of production anyways, and it is more frustrating going the route you are currently on.

Sounds like you may be doing survey work. Check out the Eagle Point Data Reduction software. It may do what you want. It's geared towards Eagle Point users making the transition to C3D (or at least surveyors using Eagle Point).

HERE is the link to their website.

If you don't go with the Data Reduction software which allows for the same workflow you are accustomed to with EP, you might look into the Surveyor's Companion software by Eagle Point. There EP Point conversion to Civil 3D points works really well. It also allows you to convert your node library to Description Keys.

With the Data Reduction software (from my understanding) will also allow your crews to not have to change the way they collect the field work.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.
