Have you tried scripting the .-mapexport command?

RK gave you a great solution for exporting to a shape file.
To help you will developing code to add the Object Data (OD) to the objects prior to export (Acad Map or not), this may help:

You can use the PDF link I reference to see all of the functions you would need to get, put, manipulate Object Data (OD), etc.
I understand you're new to programming, so this documentation may seem a bit overwhelming.
