Default Saving Inventor as .sat file for Autocad 3d!

Hi! Can someone please let me know if saving a simple Inventor model of a storage tank with nozzles, ladders etc. can be used in Autocad for adding piping onto existing flanges. How much intelligence is there in the .sat file. Can they modify anything at all on the model in autocad or just pick reference points for adding 3d autocad geometry!
    Thanks!

Sure you can save as *.sat and then issue the acisin command in AutoCAD. It will be like any other AutoCAD solid.

But you can save directly as dwg solid and avoid this extra step.
Simply go to Environments>AEC Exchange>Save as DWG Solid.
