    Default 2011 Conduit

It seems our lazy friends at Revit headquarters decided not to put default fittings into the software for conduit. That way the consumers of the product must spend an hour or so loading in all the fittings because we have nothing better to do. Now, after i have loaded all the fittings it still does not work correctly. Yay! All Im trying to do is have conduit appear on plans with offsets and 90's. Can someone please help me with this. Thanks.

    Headquarters?
I was under the impression they worked from the hindquarters. You know that area right next to the...I digress

So you have loaded all of the fittings and assigned them to the family...yes?

What is it not doing at this point?

That is not correct. Back in April, there was a post both here and on Kyle's blog that outlined the steps to getting conduit into a 2011 project. You need to start a new project based on the "Systems-Default" template and copy the conduit in or use Transfer Project standards. I re-wrote our company template for the 2011 release and it worked perfectly.

I transfered all the garbage from the imperial template. I have an elbow loaded for the Bend and have a coupling loaded for the transition. It still will not make a 90 degree. Im using conduit with fittings and automatic connect.

For some reason I seemed to have the same issue and believe it or not I used conduit with no fittings and it worked just fine....fittings and all.

"no fittings" means that Revit is modeling a conduit with bends, rather than pre-manufactured bend fittings.

That is, "no fittings" means the contractor will bend a piece of conduit without a junction point. This is important because these bends need to adhere to NEC bending radius'. A pre-manufactured and UL listed fitting doesn't necessarily need to do this.

Also, I believe if you want to calculate a total length of a conduit run, you need to use conduit with "no fittings".
