AutoCAD 2010 image plotting issues!

I currently have both 2008 & 2010 on my machine, but 2008 will be removed soon. My problem (and that of my co-workers) is in plotting drawings containing images: when plotting from 2008, everything is fine; when plotting from 2010, images have dark backgrounds (white plots gray) and/or black lines do not print. Current image is USGS map. When plotting to Ricoh Aficio MP C4500, background is dark gray (adjusting brightness, fade, contrast lightens gray, but also fades or eliminates necessary features). When plotting to HP Designjet 4520, background is fine, but black/gray/blue features are too light or do not print. Others in department having similar issues with other images and we are losing critical data from images. Print preview looks good in most, if not all, cases. Again, 2008 prints fine, 2010 is the problem and we believe all settings are identical. Are we missing something, or is this a special issue inherent to 2010? Thanks for any advice.

What happens when you plot to DWF or PDF? does that look the same in 2010 and 2008?

PDF writes/prints fine. Don't know on DWF yet, as Design Review ******* out on me.

DWF works fine also (had to reinstall Design Review). The problem is direct plotting, which is the method we usually use.

What's the difference between the drivers for 2008 and 10? Is one using the HDI driver (i.e. Acad's own) and the other the Windows driver? Maybe there's a driver setting to be adjusted, like the dithering setting. Also check / uncheck the Use OLE application when plotting OLE objects (shouldn't make a difference, but you never know) .

I believe that all drivers are identical, as they are referenced from same folder.

which suggests that 2010 is using the 2008 drivers not the 2010 drivers. Try repathing from Options\Files\Device driver file search path.

Now PDF/DWF not printing correctly. Drivers pathed through 2010. I printed one page to PDF, then printed to HP plotter. It looked fine, but scale was off. I edited the drawing, then replotted to PDF. Now it doesn't pick up the black from the image.
