Soil discretization

Anyone used robot structural analysis to calculate underground objects like well's, tunnels, reservoirs? How you discretize soil around objects? How to divide soil in finite elements?

Any ideas?

Maybe to gat an approach solution,
Through solids and of course by adding material of soil with reprezentative properties,
But keep in mind that its very aproached solution,
Otherwise you must use ansys or abaqus ( or any other software like plaxis) to do this.
