    Default Black and White Rendering

I did this in 30 minutes total and the renders are only 30 second Low renders as an example. But here is a way to get black and white renders. There are 2 styles I am calling black and white and white box.

For black and white, it's simple. It's a normal render and then under adjust exposure put saturation to 0 after. This is usually not the look people are going for though.

For the white box style, I used a phase filter set to new construction to be overridden and the material is a white wall. I also made a previous phase called Doors and Windows, and grabbed all the doors and windows and put them on that phase. Then set the existing phase in the phase filter to be By Category. So, now all doors and windows show glazing with transparency and color and all the rest is white.

Id rather use Photoshop than start moving stuff inter-phase, thats just a recipe for disaster. I mean, i get what youre going for, and its a nice style... But there are other ways. I used to use a Special Phase Filter, and just turn glazing OFF, so it doesnt show at all. I loved the way they looked, and i didnt have to start pushing things this way and that Phase wise.

    Just a thought.

this is probably the most obvious way if you just want a simple, fast B&W version and you are outputting to pdf (or any other print file) you can just set it to print B&W. usually about 3 mouse clicks in total. (i found this thread interesting, ok?!

Aaron, that's is what I did, but I wanted the glazing in color, so it had to be moved. It was definitely done in a copied model, not the original.

I wish the view filter could override material. That would be so much simpler.

Here's my process. I wound up taking an original step out and everything came out the same. Doesn't take much time and creates a nice clean render.
