    Lightbulb Attribute Text Mask

I would like to see an option for text attributes to be able to mask the text background, similar to the option that is available with Mtext.

For example, I have a section callout block that in certain rotations has the attribute text obscured by the section arrow, a separate block. An attribute mask option would automatically wipe out the portion of the section arrow coinciding with the attribute text, allowing the attribute to be readable.

I agree. I have many blocks that contain attributes which are fields, but can't mask what's behind them. If there is going to be an option to mask text, it should apply to all text whether it's called a field, attribute, mtext, dtext, etc.

I agree, it would be nice.

You could attach a wipeout (you could even do multiple ones) to the attribute itself. Or in the block for the attribute, do a text mask to the text. Our company has that set up on all detail bubbles, callout notes, etc. & that really saves alot of time since trimming & extending around the objects are no longer required.

Good suggestion. I have already included wipeouts in the majority of my symbols. However, the symbol I mention above has attribute text that is right justified, and the size of the necessary wipeout is dependent on the length of the attribute text; a one-size-fits-all wipeout doesn't work as well for this case. An automatic mask would be easier and would adjust its size automatically with the attribute text.

Although there are workarounds, an automatic attribute mask would be a great thing.
