Gents,

Our company has grown quite rapidly over the past few months, and with the introduction of Inventor 2011 we've seen some massive performance decreases in certain aspects of our work. But what I'd really like to know is how do the larger companies manage file storage etc, to get the best performance from the Vault.

Here's a quick view of our company.

27 Drafters all on high level workstations not more then 5 years old (min spec: x64 2.6GHz, 12Gb Ram, Quadro FX1800 graphics card, Win XP x64 SP2)
Inventor 2011 Suite on all workstations.
100mbps Network (due for upgrade very shortly)
Vault 2011 SP2 on top spec server, Windows server 2003 enterprise edition SP2, Microsoft SQL 2008 Full version SP2.
130,000+ files, split 3 ways (almost evenly), 2 folders contain 2/3rds of the data, the remaining 1/3rd is scattered amongst dozens of misc folders (this needs to be cleaned up).
1 main project file, and a few (less then 10) minor occasionally used project files.

We're planning on adding our AutoCAD data to the Vault later this year or early next year, this will add another 30,000 files to the system, We're also considering adding our photos which could result in double the file storage.

Does anyone have any documentation on recommendations for larger companies? Is anyone out there using Vault with large file stores and NOT having problems?

Please share your experiences, and problems. I'm keen to find out what others are doing.

Regards

Gerrard
