Default 3ds MAX to Revit free form problem

    Hello everybody,
I have a question that might sound silly, but i looked over and over for an answer with no luck

i have a free form model made in 3ds MAX, its totally irregular and follows no pattern
I've exported it as DWG and DXF formats to insert it in Revit

what i want to do now in Revit is, to take that model and apply a precise grid that doesnt squeez or shrink with the object deformation.

doing so with a free form object made in revit is easy, but the object made in max, it just dont work at all. and rebuilding the object in Revit again will be extremely time consuming. am i missing anything?

    thanks in advance

Can you clarify what you mean by this? Is the grid going to represent the final cladding module?
Any way to post the dwg and dxf files for us to look at?
