Hi all, I'm quite new to Revit. I was wondering if anyone has a neat way to quickly convert a 2D CAD contour map into a 3D topography in Revit. I know how to make a topography with points but often one starts with a contour map...
The "quickest" way is within AutoCAD - select each contour line and under its properties change its "elevation" to be correct (ensure you use the right "units"). This means you can then use the "Use Imported" tool under site tools to create a 3d topography.
Generally it also pays to extend the autocad lines and then cut the "extended" topography within Revit back since sometimes Revit creates a bit of a mess at the edges...youll see what I mean
