Beam connections

It's great that Revit joins beams and columns but it doesn't always work. What do I do?

Opening by face is the only way you can fix those odd ball connections. However if you remove the beam or adjust it's location you'll need to fix the opening by face. Also you need to do one opening by face for each beam that needs to be modified.

Mine's usually through the roof and I'm not trying to look at it in 3d. If it looked ok in plan, that's where I'd stop. Concrete beam joins are slightly better than they were in beginning, but they still aren't a lot of fun. I just got done with (2) 5 story CIP buildings. I think that took about 5yrs off my life. they work ok on 90 degree corners but that's about it.
