I wish to know about level of accuracy comparing contours created by google earth image and total station survey
Use the Total Station. The data collected by the total station will be far more accurate.
Personally I would not use the Google data for design except for determining potential routes for roaways, borrow locations etc. I will not use google for anything but. The next phase to is gather Lidar or run an actual survey. Lidar data I have worked with seems to be 20cm to 80cm error when checked to total station or GPS. (Lidar gets better on hard surfaces such as ACP).
I also wouldn't use Google Earth terrain data for construction design but would use it for planning purposes and feasibility type research.
