Default Why does offset command break when entering value if the mouse curser leaves the tool bar?

Can anyone explain why the offset command gets interrupted while entering a value for the offset if the mouse pointer moves away from the tool bar and into the workspace? More importantly, is there a way to bypass this silly productivity killer?

    Thanks,
    James

I've seen this issue brought up in about every release I've worked on. Only thing you can do is add your name to the list by filing a support request and waiting till they get around to address it.
