    Default ACAD Menu file location

I am trying to locate the acad.mnu file on my pc but cant find it.

The location that AutoCAD says that it is is,

    C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2005\R16.1\enu\support\acad

But i have no 'Application Data' directory!

I have also done a search of the c drive for the file and all it find is one in the AutoCAD2005\backup directory.

    Can anyone help?

Application Data directory is Hidden by default, You have to set your folder options to view hidden files and folders.

    Hi

System variable MenuName might also prove useful.

    +

The following simple little bit of AutoLISP

    (findfile "acad.mnu")

    Have a good one, Mike

Actually, you don't, as long as you know the folder name.
    Tip:
Bring up Explorer, browse to the user's profile folder, e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\RobertB. Then in the Address bar type in "Application Data" and hit <Enter>. The hidden folder will open.
