Only if you ALSO have the Survey module.
Then set up your Figur Preferences
and symnbol library, then import the FBK file
through Survey
can u expand on that. i got the description key manager update.
From the Help File:
You can determine which layer a figure is drawn on by creating a prefix for a group of figure names. All figures with a specific prefix are placed on a specific layer. This information is stored in the fig_pref.db file in the data\survey\language folder of the project directory.
To change the Figure Prefix Library
- Access the Survey Prefix Editor dialog box using one of the following options:
-
From the Projects menu, choose Data Files to display the Edit Data Files dialog box. Select Survey from the Program list and select Figure Prefix Library from the Data Files list. Click Edit Data.
- From the Analysis/Figures menu, choose Figure Prefix Library.
- Click New to display the Figure Prefix Creation dialog box.
-
Type the figure prefix you want to use to sort the figures. For example, if you add the prefix EP, then the figures in the project that begin with EP are grouped together on the same layer.
Click OK to return to the Survey Figure Prefix Editor dialog box.
- Type the Layer Name for the prefix.
You can edit existing layer prefixes, or view the available prefixes, by browsing through the Figure Prefix scroll list. The following are sample prefixes provided in the prefix list. Figure prefixes
- Click OK.

When you create a figure, it is drawn as a polyline with a figure name linked to it. You can create a figure either by entering coordinates or referencing an existing point, and then giving a distance and direction to the next point. Each figure consists of points or locations that have a relationship. You can use figures to represent features such as fences, buildings, or roads. Figures are always referenced by name. The name can be up to 20 characters long and can consist of letters and/or numbers. For example: ROAD_1.
One project may contain many figures. The Autodesk Survey program has options to perform figure inquiries that identify a figure and determine exact courses and closure.
NOTE To label figures, use commands from the Lines/Curves menu.
do you know if there is a script or setting that will automatic draw in line work depending on the layer the item is on. A co-worker thoght he remember someone showing him it.
Hello bhajk,
Look at using the Batch command. It is in the Survey module. You can take the sample and edit it to put the linework on the layers you need as well as symbols and labels.
thanks, we discovered the survey team is not doing their imputs right which is causeing part of the problems
