Default AutoCAD 2007 short PDF File names

I have 2 issues in using AutoCAD 2007 SP-2 to create PDF's using DWG to PDF or CutePDF:

    1. All of the PDF file names are shortened and it removes the layout name from the end of the file name. So it overwrites the files it is creating for the multiple pages because they all have the very same file name.
    2. Publish will only create single page PDF's we cannot create multi-page PDF's

I also have AutoCAD 2011 Vanilla installed and do not have either of these issues.

We are currently migrating everyone from 2007 to 2011 but they are currently using 2007 at this time so I need to solve it in the 2007 Software.

    TIA

In our version of AutoCAD 2007 I am unable to get PUBLISHCOLLATE to come up,

    Command: publishcollate
Unknown command "PUBLISHCOLLATE". Press F1 for help.

for number 1. - I think that was just the way it was; then it got changed in a later release.

On the older machines with 2007 it is working fine I believe. I'll verify.

ok, i didn't remember when that option was made available - it's in 2011 certainly. without it, your best bet for a multipage PDF will be to publish to a multi-page DWF, and then print that DWF to PDF with acrobat or some other PDF printer

    Yeah I guess I'm spoiled by 2011.

Any ideas on the truncated file names?
