    Default [inventor2008] bend a ring

    Good morning,

I'm trying to create a part, a ring
    -inside diam = 350mm
    -outside diam = 470mm
    -thickness = 10mm
and bend it on a cylinder as a doubling plate. Is it possible?

    thanks

    The 1st version I used was v2009.
However, I believe there is an "emboss" function in v2008.
    This will do the trick.

I've thought about it but I couldn't find a way to make it work

    What are the cylinder parameters?

I think what I told you was wrong.
Use "Bend Part" function under "Modify" tab, after creating the ring.
I am not sure if the button may be located in other tag with v2008.
You have to have an axis on another sketch for bending.

Use radius instead of diameters. First, cut a section thru the cylinder and from the centre, extend a horizontal line out -any length.
Next, instead of -inside diam = 350mm, -outside diam = 470mm, change these into radiuses but keep the 10mm thickness.
Take the radius centre point and position on the horizontal line you drew earlier and preform your manoeuvres off that. Position accordingly.
From the centre of the part, draw a circle around your cylinder and the use revolve.
It should become clear so I hope you get what I mean.
