Rename subcategories

Hi all,

As naming conventions evolve in our organization, I'd like to be able to iterate through subcategory names and line style names in order to change them. I'm finding that these are Read-Only and am drawing the conclusion that this will not be possible through the API. Is there a way? Thanks in advance.

not 100% sure, i think you can create / rename / delete your own subcategory, but not OOTB subcategory, whether using API or not, hope i'm wrong.

Yes, I'm aware the OOTB ones are off-limits as well they probably should be. I'm talking about user created ones and being able to change their name programaticallly. Thanks.

you can create new subcategory using API, but rename it? i don't know if that's the case, if not, then you can create new ones anyway, and set all objects of old subcategory into new subcategory, kind of workaround if you cannot directly rename subcategory.

For the lines, there are only a few pre-defined read-only, so I have made a ton of my own, which of course, list alphabetically, right after the pre-defined ones.

I think you guys are talking about Categories, not Subcategories?
