MEP 2011 - Problem with Hidden line view in double line piping

I have tried everything, including an audit to try and get this problem to go away, and I'm hoping someone here has seen this issue before.

In Hidden line view, this is what my rises/drops for my piping look like:



As you can see, there is a large circle around each place where a pipe turns up or down vertically, obscuring everything else around it. I have tried to mess around with the hidden line settings in the MEP settings tab, but it doesn't make any difference at all no matter what I do.

What step am I missing to get this to show up correctly? (i also have the same problem in single line, if that helps)

From the appearance I agree, and more specifically, the "outside gap".
