Default Trouble opening an invalid DWG

    Hello there,

I know this is a subject which has come up many times before and I have gone through all the threads regarding recovering corrupted dwg but none of them has worked.
Error message is Invalid drawing file, tried recover, inserting into an empty drawing, converting to a dxf and then back to DWG, none of these work.
I unfortunately do not have a back up file.

Is there anything else I can try or is this just a bad dwg.

    Cheers Kirsty

is it a drawing that was saved in a version newer than what you are using? if so, try dwgtrueconvert and see if it can help by saving down to your version.

Recently I received some drawings from the client, which is clashed when I tried to open them.
I have tried "recover" ans what you have done, and found there is noway to fix.
I guess those drawings are created by non-AutoCAD programs which is not compatible with AutoCAD.

Which (year) version of autocad are you using?
Try opeining the file with Wordpad and read the header text which will tell you the file format.
