IMG FILES INTO AUTOCAD MAP 3-D

I can't find anything on what I need to do or I didn't look at page 23 of Google or something! We use ArcMap 10 for most things and have images that were created and stitched together in ERDAS. I have an overall tile of aerials of the City and then ones that are broken down into 4 different segments of the City. We use AutoCad for drawing up as-builts. Many times there are meetings with clients that we are building something for and it would be nice to have the images attached to the basemap. Most of the engineers don't use ArcMap and prefer using AutoCad for their work.

Exactly how do I do that? I don't know of any software that would convert these huge tiles from an img file to a tiff or jpg or anything that would fall into place where they should be in AutoCad. I can't directly import them in and would like to know if it's just an exercise in futility

Can you export the image using ArcMap into a format supported by AutoCAD (TIF, MrSID, ECW, etc.)?

Thank you so much - first I need to compress them to get them out as a tif but I didn't even think of that! That should work!
