Default Running AutoCAD Lt 2009 in Windows 7

We have been running AutoCAD Lt 2009 in XP Mode compatibility under Windows 7.
All seemed to be fine but after some recent W7 updates we seems to be experiencing crashes. We are not sure whether this is AutoCAD, W&, XP compatibility or a mixture.

Example: Open an existing file, click on a component and we get a message like:

    acadlt.exe - Application Error
X The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

Hi, this is turning into an issue and I could really do with some help.

Is everyone able to run AutoCAD LT 2009 in XP compatibility mode under Windows 7 or are there some tricks and traps? It's falling over big time for us.

If not could you recommend where else I should look for advice.

    Many thanks.

I'm not in your shoes, but you could try repairing LT.

Did you have difficulties installing and using LT2009 without Compatibility Mode?
Does removing those Win7 updates and repair-reinstalling LT2009 fix the problems?

Did you all by chance install or update Norton 360?

    1. No problems installing.
    2. We are running Vipre Enterprise for our AV product.
    3. Will try a repair first. As a last resort will have to play with the update combos.

What I have been trying to ascertain is if anyone else is running LT 2009 in XP Compatibility Mode successfully on W7. I can't be the only person having this problem?

    Many thanks,

    Ed

We are now getting an E06D7363H error.

This happens when you try and open a second document in AutoCad LT and is apparently a known problem with MFC80U.DLL which is the open file/folders DLL used by AutoCad.

Any ideas how I can force the correct version in? Running the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistribuitable Package (x64) didn't do the trick.

    Hi Ed.
I have several PC's with Windows 7, running AutoCad LT 2009, with no issues at all.
I never try to use the XP compatibility mode.

Why did you choose to use XP compatibility mode in the first place?

If I were you, I uninstall AutoCad LT, create a new user in windows, and reinstall a new fresh copy.
Don't forget to update all SP's.
    Hope it help.
