    Default Revit Network License

So we have 1 network license of Revit which we upgraded from 2011 to 2012. In the license manager it looks like there is a license for 2011 and 1 for 2012, but if I open 2011 then the license manager won't find the license for 2012. For our stand alone license we can run both versions at the same time. Shouldn't I be able to do that with the networked versions as well. Sorry I don't have all the specifics as our IT guy set up the license file.

From what I know, you can only run one instance (if you have only one license) of any version of a network license of Revit. If you have both Revit 2011 and Revit 2012 installed (network licensed), you can only run either 2011 or 2012. You cannot run both. If you had two network licenses, you can run both Revit 2011 and Revit 2012 simultaneously because it will use two licenses.

Thanks for the reply. That is what we figured. Just thought I would check.

It really sucks because Revit isn't backwards compatible so we need to run both version, at least for a while. Like I said with a standalone license you can do it. Looks like we may be dropping our network license for the cheaper standalone.
