    Default Property Data Sets

As shown in the attached JPEG, I have attempted to create a Property Set that would allow me to modify the automatic wall heights. Since the Property Set for wall height only includes the wall height from the baseline to the scheduled top of wall, I need to allow for a series of walls that extend 36" below the baseline. I thought I had done that with the formula shown.

However, the result in the Wall Schedule is merely a rounding off of the automatic wall height, even though I have specified distance-long.

Does anyone know how to make this thing work?

    Hi cgraham,

Try changing both the height and modifier to "Standard" and the result to "Distance - Long". I've found that formula PSD's play nicer when working with standard data.

    Hope that helps,

Thanks for the rapid response! It worked- almost. The result is given in inches, without the inch mark, even though the format for the schedule has been tried with all 3 lengths- long, short, and nominal. There is one exception and that is a wall height that includes a fraction of an inch.

What am I doing wrong, now?

Do the math within the formula property with the Standard Property Data Format, as Scott showed in his attached PDF. Click OK to return to the Property Set Definition, and apply the Length - Long Property Data Format to the formula property itself.

If memory serves, that will not affect the display of test results when editing the formula, but it will be applied to the result when displaying the value in a Schedule Table or Schedule Tag.

Thanks, David. I do have the PDS configured as you have stated. Attached are the PDS for the formula, the PDS for the Wall Object, and the output to the Schedule. The column in the schedule is also set to "Length-Long".

Do you see anything else that I have done wrong?

Try this as your formula property - it could be that your whole number results are being interpreted as integers rather that real numbers, and the architectural feet and inches formatting is not being applied:

RESULT = CDbl ([Height] + [Modifier])
