We have just upgraded from ACA 2007 to 2011, and I now notice a Project Browser. I have read through the so-called Help documentation, but cannot find how Project Browser differs from Project Navigator.
I sure would appreciate some help with this.

If you are talking about the ACA "Project Browser", that has always been a part of the Drawing Management feature, along with Project Navigator. You use Project Browser to find and set a specific ACA Project current, and can also view the project home page, if you create one.
Thanks, David, and I do see that now. Is it possible to use some of the Project Browser features without using all the Project Navigator features?
We have found that using Navigator with as many as 4 people on the same project causes an incredible slow down, locking up all computers, etc. every time a file is saved.
We are looking primarily at utilizing standard drawing files for synchonization, title block naming, and publishing. We do not need to use the vertical and horizontal portions, nor do we desire to use the insert details functionality.
How are other people utilizing this tool?
