Default looking for a new monitor

I want to upgrade to a new monitor.
I am looking at the 24" to 27" range. I am mainly using AutoCad 2010, but also do some work in Revit MEP 2012. My resolution now is 1400x900, which I either like or have gotten used to.
Any suggestions on what to look for, or any specific make / model recommendations would be great.
    Thanks.

Way too big, unless you are sitting at the other side of your cube.

I have twin Dell 22's and they work pretty good...unless your glasses are polarized...then all you see is black...

I you go with a 27", you should probably get one of the 2560x1440 resolution monitors, unless your eyesight is really bad.

I haven't tried one of those great big ones yet, but we've gotten a variety in recent years, including Samsung, Acer, ViewSonic, maybe a couple others, and there's been minimal difference between them. They all work pretty well. We do have a pile of four or five dead monitors, and every single one of them is a Dell monitor. I think they all lasted at least three years before they died, but so far, we've only had Dell monitors fail. I think we only have a couple of Dells that are still working.
