    Default Relocating Project

I have an issue that seems simple enough, but I can't quite figure out the best way to do it. Currently our first floor is located at 0'-0" and we want to make it 100'-0". Is there an easy way to manipulate the model in order to achieve this? The last thing I want to do is move the model!

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    snow

There are a couple of things you can do, depending on your model requirements. How far are you into your building/model design? Will you be doing any site topo work that needs to show real world elevations?

If you're not too far into your model, you could move the level lines up 100 feet and then move your elevation and section views up. I would prefer that as it will still leave shared coordinates to show real world elevations.

If you don't plan on showing any site topo information or other real world elevation information, you could use Relocate Project to move the project up 100 feet and make your level lines display Shared elevations. With this method the Project base elevation will still be 0' - 0" but this will be the least amount of work.

In the future if you want all buildings to show 100' for the floor level, I would change it in your company's project template.

When I worked in Colorado we had our template set up with FF = 100'-0" Worked great., Just make sure you re create or move all your elevation/section views up, otherwise you'll find them all well below your floor.

Building Elevations can be crazy. The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ) controls many of the bridges, airports, tunnels and more in and around New York City. Unlike Colorado, we are practically at sea level. The PANYNJ engineers use an artificial z elevation that sets mean high tide around +300'. This puts all of their tunnels and subways in plus z coordinates, even though they are underground!
