Buried deep in your Users/your name here/appdata/roaming/navisworks manage 2011/clash/ folder is a little file that's called simply Rules.
This file stays on your computer so that when you move or open your .nwf files from a different computer, the rules will be jumbled up. Still usable but, not very user friendly.
When you try to edit the file with notepad, the first part says something about lcustream and a Google search only takes you to some random .nwd files that people have posted. No rules in them of any kind or any way to open the rules file.
I think if we can crack the rules mystery, we can then start to manage the Rules through Excel or some other program.
Right now we have about 60 batches with 80 rules that we have checked depending on what batch we're working with. Add one rule and you have to manually go through each batch and check or uncheck the box. The rule is added to each batch, only it's not checked.
Going through 60 batches and checking each rule is VERY time consuming and makes you end up with strange letters on your forehead when your head slams down on the key pad after you nod off from total boredom..
Ummm.. or so I've been told..
Has anyone had a crack at this mysterious file??
