    Default Perforated Walls

I m in need of perforated or honeycombed walls for ventilation in humid regions. Any one ever made such walls ? Can it be made by arrays of opening patterns. Actually I require thin RCC walls with patterns of openings on whole wall surface.

My first question to you is does this need to be modeled or are you just looking for an appropriate graphic representation?

Tiny, tiny, tiny curtain wall panels.....

...or just a model pattern for CD's.

Or curtain walls with the panels modified to be your pattern....

    Dimitri
It is to be modelled with a thickness of say 1" to 3" so that one can know its volume. It is like a curtain wall to cover staircase, but it should be perforated for air & light to get inside. The patern of openings may be shapes of choice.

I'm with Michael and Aaron. I'd do this as curtain wall panels but probably just create the pattern as a surface pattern for performance reasons.
If it's a series of regular panels you could model one of each panel type, check the volume and then just add a multiplier to your panel schedule to get the correct volume. (I don't believe you can schedule the volume of curtain panels anyway)

There are a number of options, if you really feel the need to model it but your best bet is to create a panel with two surfaces, one modeled one patterned and set them to different sub-categories. You can then set visibility as need for 'drafting' views and modeled views that will cast shadow and render correctly.

FYI, I just did a space with a bunch of USG Libretto ceilings and lots of holes.
I modeled all the holes for rendering in 3DS. It looked great.

    Aaron,

Is the image on that link yours? It's pretty freaking cool.

No - that's just the product I was using. As with most of our stuff - I can't show the rendering as the project is client confidential. However here is a detail of the rendering...
