Help with assembly problem

We have a basic pavement section with constant cross slope.
On the low side, a ditch has already been designed - meaning that the horizontal and vertical locations are set.

See image below.

We can get the front and back slopes of the ditch to work, but not without having the front slope tie back to edge of pavement, which of course changes the slope because the center of ditch is not a constant distance from edge of pavement.

So I think the dilemma is ---- what subassembly can be used to define the yellow segment -and let *that* point vary based on where the two slopes intersect...?

Makes sense.... but I still don't get how to actually assemble it....

Starting with the lane.....Jeff you say to add the MarkPoint point *before* the LinkSlopesBetweenPoints --- if you do that, how did the MarkPoint end up on the other end of the LinkOffsetAndSlope?

1. Add new Assembly
2. Add the 2 lanes, left & right
3. Add LinkOffsetAndSlope to the left lane, using any negative offset/slope as this is for layout mode only. The End of this link will be what you will be setting the ditch alignment & profile to target and will control the actual location.
4. Add the Link to surface or simple daylight for the outside ditch slope to the end of the LinkOffsetAndSlope.
5. Add a Marked Point to the end of the LinkOffsetAndSlope, give this a PointName of "Ditch"
6. Add the LinkSlopesBetweenPoints to the end of the left lane. Set these properties as follows....Marked Point Name = Ditch, Slope 1 = desired slope from edge of road, Slope 2 = desired ditch foreslope, Ditch width = 0.
7. Edit the LinkOffsetAndSLope sub to OmitLink.

Add the Assembly to the corridor region, set the Targets for the ditch alignment & profile and the Surface for daylight.

Note that *before* refers to the the Order in which you actually add the subs to the assembly, so that in the Assembly properties the Marked Point is shown 'above' the LinkSlopeBetweenPoints sub. If the Marked point is added after you add the LinkSlopeBetweenPoints, then it won't find the Marked point during calculations, since the Marked Point hasn't been calculated yet.
