Default Xrefs not printing or printing in light gray

I just migrated from Autocad 2007 to 2012. I am having problems printing xrefs, they are showing up really light gray. I have set the transparency to 0, they appear fine on the screen, but don't print right.

To explain a little further, the way we do files here is by having a basemap that is x-refed into a project drawing. The project drawing is then x-refed into a title page drawing that is then printed. The title page prints the stuff from the project drawing, but not from the basemap. You can see it on the screen, but not on paper. When I do a print preview it looks right.

The drawings still print in 2007 without problems. Any suggestions?

Is the same CTB/STB file that you use in 2007 available to 2012?
If you expand the plot dialog, you will see the plot style and whether or not it was found.

Yes, it is the same. I just found a spot where you can make a locked layer transparent. It is on a locked layer, but that didn't help by setting that to 0.

On screen transparency with locked layers and xref have no effect on the printed output, so you don't have to look into this any further.

What about the plot preview - does it look OK there?

It is operator error- it is the printer I am sending it to, it works just fine on another printer in the office.

Thank you so much for trying to help me.
