I don't quite get Revit at times. I'm used to using Materials in AutoCAD and MAX, but I think I'm missing something.
In the attached image you'll see precast concrete surrounds around the windows on the building. I'm using a map that, if it's applied in a "box" or "planar" UVW map to the object should show up as if carved from one large block of masonry...However, it appears that Revit is mapping the material's image onto each SURFACE of the swept family form. The object should not appear to have as many mortar joints between the precast elements.
I've played with the "tile" and "None" options in the Reviit materials editor in the Transforms/Repeat section, but it doesn't seem to help.
How the heck do you get materials to wrap around an entire object as one object and not as separate discreet faces?
did you find you answer - or a guess
I am also in the same boat with experience in ACAD & 3DS, but am pulling my hair out trying to find logic in Revit's mapping approach
anything you could add would be helpful
thanks,
Ken
