Default Running 2006 on Windows 7

I just purchased a new computer. My Acad 2006 says it is incompatible with Windows 7. I used to run with Windows XP on my old computer. Is there any way I can run my 2006 on Windows 7 without having a computer tech un-install Windows 7 & re-installing XP? HELP!!!!

    Thanks,

    Pete

if you've got the Professional or Ultimate edition, you can try running it in XP Mode

As mentioned, XP mode should work. Another workaround (which I've seen used as far back as AutoCAD 2000 on a Windows 7 box) is Windows Virtual PC (which is free with Windows 7):

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/

...once installed, then use Virtual PC running Windows XP (also free with a valid Win 7 license)

"Windows Virtual PC (which is free with Windows 7)" - only with Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise edition which is what CADTAG was suggesting.
