    Default Mass Cast Shadows

How do I get my masses to cast shadows? They are currently not casting any when all model components are.

Without a screenshot, I would hazard a guess that their materials have 100% transparancy....reduce this and they will cast shadows

Thx. The mass material is set to "By Category", and the Mass Object Style Material is set to "Default Form", whose transparency is set to 50%, and the "use render appearance for shading" is not selected. BTW - the Mass was created in a Design Option if that matters. Please Advise.

it needs to probably be 0% transparency, logic the same as, say, glass in your windows, they might be 50% transperancy but you wouldnt want the glass in the window to cast a shadow..

If the mass is loaded, so select it and reduce transparency to zero but I think your problem is when you model in place mass you will not find shadows, in this case select the mass then right click and override by category then tick next to "cut line styles then edit then next to "core layer clean up" select no edge from pull down menu ok ok Done. Enjoy

Just select it and from left hand side menu scroll down then select existing instead of new construction next to "Phase created"
