We are modeling our own parametric HDPE fittings for our custom pipe routing preferences, and have created molded elbows without a hitch. However, the dimensional data we have received from the manufacturer on mitered, segmented elbows (namely in how each segment or "gore" is geometrically defined) is insufficient and other manufacturers have the same problem. So I was hoping that when I looked at the MEP content out of the box on five-segment elbows that I could figure out how they're made.

An example part I looked at was from the Pipe Domain in the HDPE chapter, "Fusion-Class 200-IPS-Fabricated 90 Degree Ell-Five Segment". I can see that it was created sweeping a circular profile over an arc. But how were the five segments created? Is there extra information that is trimming off sections of the arc path to make it appear segmented? This is a big hitch in our progress to fully using MEP and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
