Default No sunlight from window not in view

I am rendering an "interior:sun and artificial" scheme with both multiple interior lights and two windows. One window is in the room and renders as expected. The other window is in an adjoining room, with a connecting cased opening, and is not visible in the view. My rendering shows the adjoining room, through the cased opening, as pitch black which leads me to believe that that window is not allowing light into the rendering. Please advise.

As I recall there is a "daylight portal" under Custom render settings which must be turned on for your window in this condition. Try searching a bit on that subject in the Revit Wiki Help.

Thx. I enabled that option but there is no change in the rendering. I added some ceiling mounted artificial lights in the adjoining room but they didn't make a difference either. Any ideas?

Maybe too obvious a question but does the window use the same glass type as the others? If not is it transparent?

Check to make sure the Opening Cut in the cased opening family is set to be transparent in 3D.

Yes, it is the same glass material as the other window in the rendering.

In this instance I modeled the opening using a rectangular straight wall opening.

Would having the "far clip active" box checked in the properties of the view have something to do with it? If it is checked maybe the view isn't seeing past the wall the window is set in. Just a guess....

Perhaps the OP could post an example, just a copy of the wall and the opening in question
so we can take a look.

    It's probably the rendering settings.
If you use a higher setting it will likely work.
Specifically, it's the amount of transparency (or refraction) bounces.
