Default DGN import causes fatal error

    Hi,
got problem with importing DGN in AutoCAD (DGNIMPORT). If I try to import DGN with AutoCAD LT 2012 (SP1) or AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 the software crashes and gives following messages:
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0010 Exception at 1c007dd0h
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0010 Exception at 1c0f7dd0h
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0010 Exception at 1c4d7dd0h
FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0010 Exception at 1bba7dd0h

As you see, the problem is repeatable which is good in such occasions

But with Civil 3D 2011 it imports without any problem! Where's the trick? Why same DGN imports with 1 year old version but doesn't import with newest version? I attach the "bad" DGN file.

I just tried this out with AutoCAD MEP 2012, and I got the fatal error, too...

(on the plus side... the error report reminded me that I have not yet installed the service pack.)

Anything different after installing SP (if you did it)?
And did you try to open it with older version?

There's a fatal error with Map3d 2012 as well. DGN Attach seems to do nothing at all - no error but nothing visible on screen. 2011 has no problems importing.,

As to why -- evidently adesk re-wrote their import code, and did not account for what's goin on in this particular dgn. If you are on subscription, please send this file to Autodesk and possibly they can identify the glitch and fix it in a service pack.

I did just install the service pack. I get the fatal error after that, too, just as before.

No, I have two brand new pc's here in the office, and they only have 2012 on them, I haven't bothered to install any of the older releases yet.

    Thanks for your input!
    I'll try to communicate Autodesk.
